Is
there a set up fee?
Yes, a one-time fee of $50.
Are there any contracts to sign?
NO.
Is there a minimum amount of
time I must commit to?
NO.
How long does it take for my
site to begin showing up in the search engines?
It generally takes the search engines anywhere from 2-12 weeks to get
your website(s) listed. We have found that generally speaking Alta
Vista and Infoseek seem to be the fastest and Yahoo seems to be the
slowest.
How do I check my site's progress?
The easiest way is to wait for your progress reports. However, for those
that like to see "work in progress" we suggest (after 4-8
weeks) going to Alta Vista and doing a search. Initially DO NOT search
under one of your keywords, search under your domain name. (yourdomainname.com)
Include the ".com" with the search. Once you are able to have
your domain show up then the "Site Title" and "Keywords"
are generally not too far behind. You can do this with all the search
engines. Keep in mind that the reason we suggest Alta Vista is because
we have found that they tend to be faster than the others (Infoseek
is fast too).
Why must I continue to submit?
Once I'm in the search engines I stay there right?
NO. It is critical to continue submitting your site to the search engines.
The reason is that the newer submissions tend to replace the older ones.
In other words, if you don't continue to submit your site to the search
engines your position on them drops.
How much and when will I be
charged?
Your card will be charged $29.95 per month. We take Visa, MasterCard,
and American Express. .
Do you submit to Yahoo?
YES.
Why doesn't my company need
to give you any keywords?
Because we (unlike many of our competitors) actually go to each web
site you are submitting and look at your Site Title, Domain Name, Products
and Services, Your HTML Code and META TAGS to put together your best
keywords. The idea is to have you showing up under many different keywords
in as many search engines as possible.
How do I know the work is being
done?
You will receive email verification each time your web site is submitted
to the search engines. The email verification comes directly from the
search engines and directories (not us). It is an "auto responder".
So it is independent of anything we do. The email verifications look
a bit like spam so they are easy to over look. Also, the large search
engines (Yahoo, Excite and others), tend not to respond unless there
is a problem so don't look to get any email verification from them (although
you will be being submitted to them as well). You also get a computer
print out from Net Professionals listing all the search engines and
directories your site was submitted to. You will receive one of them
and it is sent the first week of every month. (You will only receive
it once).
Do you just submit my domain
name?
NO. We submit your web site under many, many different keywords and
phrases. The idea is to have your web site show up in the major search
engines whenever a potential customer/client types in a keyword relating
to your product or service.
What if I don't have a domain?
Will your service still work?
YES.
Is submitting twice a month
enough?
YES. Although it wouldn't hurt you to submit more often, we feel that
twice a month is very close to the optimum amount of submissions.
Is submitting twice a month
too much?
NO. Some people have asked if they will be "de listed" or taken
off the search engines for submitting to the search engines too much.
To our knowledge NO ONE we have ever done work for has ever been de listed
or penalized as a result of our submitting their site to the search
engines.
Will I be charged any additional
fees from the search engines?
NO.
When do I get my "progress
reports"?
You get them every 6 months and they are free. Not only do they tell
you where you are showing up in the major search engines under your
many different keywords, but they also tell you the total "matches"
for that particular keyword in that search engine. (They are very useful
tools)
When do I get a list of all
the search engines/directories my site was submitted to?
Those are emailed out the first week of each month. Since the search
engines you are being submitted to does not change, you will only receive
one of them. (Although your site is being submitted bi-monthly)
