Let's be honest: your landing page has about 3 seconds to convince someone not to hit that back button. No pressure, right?
If you're running an ecommerce store and wondering why your traffic isn't turning into sales, the problem might be staring you right in the face—literally. Your landing page could be the issue. The good news? There are some tried-and-true ways to fix it.
Here's what actually works:
Offer a clear Benefit, Solve a Problem
Your headline is the first thing people see, so make it count. Skip the clever wordplay and get straight to the point. What's in it for them? Why should they care? A clear, attention-grabbing headline that tells visitors exactly what value you're offering eliminates guessing --- and, it makes it easier for SEO to index your site properly.
Use an impactful visual or video to enforce your message
Words are great, but let's face it—we're all visual creatures. Invest in high-quality product photos , illustartions, videos (and animations! ) that load fast, are
well composed, crisp and memorable. Blurry photos from your iPhone 6 aren't going to cut it.
Make sure sure your message fits on the Screen!
Now that you have crafted the best headline, offer and visual -- make sure people can see the whole message. Nothings screams amatuer like a landing page chopped in half.

Don't forget! Half your visitors are on their phone
If your site looks like a hot mess on mobile, you're basically turning away half your potential customers. Test your site on different devices and make sure everything loads quickly and looks good. Responsive design isn't optional anymore—it's essential.
Make it stupidly obvious what they should do next
Your call-to-action buttons shouldn't be a treasure hunt. Place them where people can actually see them, make them stand out, and use action words that create excitement. "Shop Now" and "Add to Cart" are classics for a reason, but feel free to get creative as long as it's crystal clear what happens when someone clicks.
